Platinum & Diamonds Buyers: 2012 Red Carpet Jewelry by: Emily (Guest Post)

What do 30 Rock’s sensationally funny Tina Fey, ever stunning and talented Ms. Natalie Portman, and the drop dead gorgeous Penelope Cruz all have in common?  They were all fabulous ladies, among many more, who were caught sporting pricey platinum and diamond jewelry on the 2012 red carpet for the Oscars.  Just over a few days ago, Los Angeles was graced with glamour and jewels as the stars strolled onto the red carpet, awaiting Hollywood’s most significant night of the year. 

To give you a little highlight of the stars who dazzled the carpet with platinum and diamonds, here’s a list of fashionable divas and what they wore:

1.     Angelina Jolie:

·      Neil Lane platinum and diamond earrings, rings, and brooch.

2.     Cameron Diaz:

·      Tiffany & Co. platinum emerald cut diamond necklace, bezel diamond earrings, and round platinum diamond ring.

3.     Jennifer Lopez:

·      Lorraine Schwartz platinum and diamond earrings and ring.

4.     Natalie Portman:

·      Harry Winston platinum and diamond necklace and earrings.

5.     Penelope Cruz:

·      Chopard platinum and diamond necklace, bracelet, and earrings.

6.     Tina Fey:

·      Bulgari platinum and baguette diamond ring mixed with sapphire and emeralds and blue sapphire earrings.

7.     Nina Dobrev:

·      Chopard platinum and diamond earrings and cuff.

8.     Kristen Wiig:

·      Neil Lane platinum and diamond bracelet, diamond and ruby ring, diamond eternity band, and chandelier earrings.

9.     Octavia Spencer:

·      Neil Lane platinum and diamond chandelier earrings matched with cocktail ring.

10. Rooney Mara:

·      Fred Leighton platinum and diamond ring.

As you can see there is a huge demographic of platinum buyers and diamond buyers on the 2012 Red Carpet event this past week.  Platinum is not just a very precious metal used to symbolize wealth and beauty; it’s the perfect selection for special occasions such as the Red Carpet.  The natural luster and shine of the metal accentuates and pairs extremely well with diamonds and other gemstones.  It’s also known for shielding and holding gems much firmly than both gold and silver.  Platinum is favored more so than white gold because it has a natural white tint, unlike white gold which has a yellowish tint in some light.  This pure white light enhances the sparkle and shine of diamonds and other gemstones.
