A few days ago, I was about to purchase Bobbi Brown's Makeup Manual, but my wonderful sister-in-law, JC (also known as MakeupDiary) offered to send me her copy instead. Today I finally received my package and to my surprise she also gave me Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces. I have heard great things about these books so I am very eager and excited to start reading them. Once I complete reading the books, I will do a review and let you all know what I think about them.

I have Face Forward by Kevyn Aucoin and I love it!! He was truly talented!
I own Makeup: The Ultimate Guide by Rae Morris, but I've heard the books you bought are great too!
If you're curious, Rae Morris' book is very informative. Heaps of full page, colour photos with lots of different looks to inspire you! Plus a range of tips and info about different eye shapes, skin type, ages, products, tools, etc.

hi, i have those two books Bobbi brown and kevyn Aucion, i absolutely love them, i have had them for the past 2yrs, lots of tips on makeup, different types of makeup and how to relate with all types of race and their skin.
I've always wanted to own a book...:( I must check these out.
Thats funny because i ordered making faces and today it came in the mail!! We'll have to compare notes while we read it! ;D

I absolutely love Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces. It was one of the first makeup books that I read. I remember it being so inspiring and I was amazed by all of the amazing transformations that he did! I want to read the Bobbi Brown book now! :)

They're really good books. Bobbi Brown's manual is very informative, especially about the more technical/scientific aspect of makeup and product care. A lot of other stuff is common sense, but overall it's a good book. Kevin Aucoin is an awesome book as well. Lots of huge photos and before/after shots. Very useful and cool.
I'm glad they both arrived safely and quickly and hope you enjoy and learn lots of cool things from them. :)

wow I never knew you two were sisters in law :D haha~ But the makeup manual looks really cool! Do they teach you like techniques and stuff? I need one of those because I'm a noob o___o
Haha yups. Our hubbies are brothers. =) But so far I'm just on chapter 5 and she's already showed a few techniques on using concealer and foundation.
I want these books! More the KA book than the BB! Lovely!
I only own that one Bobbi Brown book on like...teen beauty? It doesn't teach any techniques so I was disappointed and decided to do all my learning from my fellow bloggers!
