Chapsticks are a necessity of life of me.  There is not a day I don’t use it.  The weather here just makes my lips crazy dry.  Instead of always digging in my bags for my chapstick, I decided to make a key chain holder so I know where it is at all times.  I got the idea on Pinterest and Etsy.  Those, of course, were much fancier.  However, since I don’t own a sewing machine, I hand sewed mine.  It was very simple.

 

All you need to get this done are five items:

• Felt
• Sewing needle
• Sewing string
• Scissors
• Chapstick

 

First I cut the felt to the right size to fit the chapstick.  Then I sewed the sides.

 

Next I fold over the top and also sewed it.  Finally to keep it with my landyard, I added a circle key chain. And there you have it!

 

I really like it but I noticed when I bend over and have my landyard around my neck the chapstick may fall out easily.  So next time I will try to make the top into a cover using velcro.  But other than that, it just makes it so much easier carrying it around.

Keep in mind, you could also put your favorite lipstick and/or lipgloss in these!
