About two months ago, my husband FINALLY asked me if I could cut his hair. You can’t imagine how long I asked to do that and he always said no, but this time he was desperate. *Evil laugh* I am still ecstatic about it. Being a last minute purchase, I did not have time to research nor wait for shipping on a good quality clipper. So I settled for the Conair Custom Cut 18-Piece Haircut Kit for about $25.00 at our Rite Aid down the road.
I loved the case that came with it but it seemed a little tight squeezing everything in it.
For just $25.00, it came with a lot of parts. Options is always a must.
This set comes with the following:
- 45mm stainless steel clipper blade
- 5-position detent taper
- Metallic silver housing with blue molded insert
- 8 comb attachments: 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, left and right ear
- Barber comb
- 2 styling clips
- Barber cape
- Blade guard
- Cleaning oil
- Cleaning brush
- Deluxe hard storage case
The first few uses it worked great. Since I had no experience cutting men’s hair nor working with clippers, it did take me about 30 minutes to get my husband’s hair where I wanted it to be. (I promise I am getting better though.) It has a lot of power so you will feel strong vibrations trying to cut hair.
With the amount of parts this comes with, the price seems like a steal. You could also find this product on Amazon for HALF the price. However…after a few more uses, it started to lose power and did not seem to cut my husband’s hair as well as the professional’s clippers would at the barber’s. Also, with the attachments, it wasn’t very smooth and would snag my husband’s already short hair.
It could just be me because I have read some good reviews on this product. The only thing you could do is purchase these clippers and if you do not like them, return them. Stores usually have very good return policies, such as Sally Beauty.
What clippers do you use?
Thanks for reading,
